An upright piano coming down a triple-decker’s back stairs, a baby grand through a Wellesley foyer, a 600-pound gun safe out of a Waltham basement — these jobs get a piano board, real rigging straps, and a crew that’s done this enough times to know where the balance point actually is. Nothing gets muscled down a staircase on furniture blankets and hope.
Pianos move for a flat $275; gun safes run $235 to $360 depending on weight and the path out. Basic released-value coverage is included at no charge, and Owen can add full replacement-value protection at your walkthrough if an instrument or safe is worth the higher payout ceiling. These jobs get scheduled with enough lead time to walk the route first — stairs, doorways, and where the truck can actually park.

Pricing For This Service
Crew size sets your hourly rate — $135/hr for two movers, $175/hr for three, $215/hr for four — and if you’d rather have a firm number going in, Owen or Derek can walk the place ahead of time and write one up
The truck, dollies, and furniture pads all ride inside that hourly rate, not billed separately: $135 for two movers, $175 for three, $215 for four, and $45/hr for each additional mover after that. A $150 deposit holds your date and gets credited straight to the final invoice. Basic coverage is included on every job, and a pre-move walkthrough — in person around Newton, over video for anything farther out — is available any time you want a firmer estimate before move day.
